Browser Support

Wide-range browser support is important for web apps. It ensures they display correctly, are usable, and compliant to the best of our ability. Our apps are tested for support for the following browser versions:

• Chrome → latest version
• Firefox → latest version
• Edge → 2 most recent major versions
• IE → 11
• IE Mobile → 11
• Safari → 2 most recent major versions
• iOS → 2 most recent major versions
• Android → API 34 / Android 14. We only support versions Marshmallow and forward.

Our symptom checker app targets modern browsers but extends support back to IE 11. Our app uses javascript polyfills to support IE 11. IE 11 support costs ~100kb of javascript and limits css design options. For the year leading up to the release of the app, only 5% of the previous product’s (AppFactory) traffic is from IE and IE 11 makes up 98% of that traffic.
